Healthy Home Owner's Representative
Protecting health, durability, indoor air quality, and building performance throughout design and construction.
Complete Project Inquiry QuestionnaireBecause each engagement requires direct involvement from Richie Brown, availability is intentionally limited. The questionnaire helps determine whether Owner's Representative services are the right fit for your project.
Performance is decided in the spaces between.
Every exceptional home is the work of many hands — an architect, a builder, engineers, an interior designer, and specialty consultants. Each brings real expertise. Yet the details that most determine how a home performs over decades often live in the spaces between those disciplines.
Moisture management, indoor air quality, humidity control, building enclosure performance, and mechanical system design rarely belong to any single trade. They are shared responsibilities — and shared responsibilities are the easiest to assume away.
The outcomes that matter are seldom the product of one decision. They are the sum of dozens of smaller ones, made across many months, that must work together as a single, complete system.
Beacon serves as your Healthy Home Owner's Representative throughout design and construction. Applying building science, we protect your goals, provide independent technical oversight, and keep the decisions that govern performance aligned — from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.

Richie Brown is the Founder and CEO of Beacon Homes. After experiencing firsthand how building failures can affect health, comfort, and quality of life, he devoted himself to building science — moisture management, indoor air quality, and healthy home construction.
Over the years he has worked alongside homeowners, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to create homes that perform better, last longer, and support healthier indoor environments.
Today he serves as a Building Science Owner's Representative to owners pursuing exceptional health, durability, comfort, and performance — protecting their interests, aligning the project team, and keeping critical decisions true to the project's goals through design and construction.

Performance should be verified, not assumed.
Critical performance metrics deserve to be measured, not taken on faith. Beacon helps ensure the right tests are performed at the right time — then reviews, interprets, and documents the results, coordinating verification across the project team.

Performed by Beacon, qualified third-party consultants, commissioning agents, mechanical contractors, testing agencies, or other project team members.
We complement your team. We never replace it.
Beacon is not a substitute for your architect, builder, engineer, or interior designer. We work alongside them as an independent advisor focused solely on building performance — coordinating the interaction between systems, identifying risk early, and supporting informed decisions at every turn.
An advocate for the home itself — present from the first decision to the last.
